A Little Bit About Me...

I've lived and worked doing technical translations in Europe, having gone over initially with a Fulbright stipend for one year and having stayed on for about 19 more. Language had always been my hobby, since childhood. I used it as an amateur radio operator, first having had a US license and then a German one. I like combining teaching or technology with language.

Born and raised in Germany with a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from a German University, needed to make a fresh start in the US and decided on Accounting. Worked for 8 years in the Healthcare Industry, before I moved to Charleston to work as Accounting Supervisor at the Art Institute where I worked for 6 years. My daughter took dual credit hours in her senior year and because of her transportation issues I needed flexible hours, hence I started my own company.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that all children have the ability to learn effectively. It is just a matter of understanding how that child specifically learns best, is how to provide the best possible teaching method. If the child is surrounded by positivity throughout their education as well as constructive criticism, the child will understand their potential and move forward.
As a recent college graduate, I was driven to study engineering and music to create a balanced lifestyle. I have earned a bachelor of science with a major in engineering science and a minor in music. The ability to counteract my math and science studies with the arts is beneficial for the body and mind. My off-campus work-study job during my college career included tutoring at an after school program for children in elementary school to middle school in the subjects of math, science, and english.
