My comments on tutoring Microsoft Access : I taught Computer Science at the University of Oklahoma for 10 years while completing my doctorate. I have received a B.S. and M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis in France. I also studied towards a M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Oklahoma. I taught many subject ranging from programming to advanced databases to algorithm analysis. I also have worked in industry for 5 years as a software engineer for companies such as American Airlines and PentaSafe Security Systems. My doctoral research was on automatic database clustering using data mining. This means that I have an advanced knowledge of database systems and software.

I taught Computer Science at the University of Oklahoma for 10 years while completing my doctorate. I love to learn and everyone learns differently. I believe that if the information is not being understood one way, then we need to find another way to instruct. Hands-on learning and learning through experience always leaves a lasting impression. Just memorizing facts, although in some cases that is necessary, it is just not fun for all students and just may not stick unless learned in a fun way. I want to make learning fun because no one should ever stop learning. There is just too much out there to sit back and let life pass you by.

A Little Bit About Me...

I volunteer at City Rescue Mission. I have tutored children with their homework for more then 6 months. I continue to work at Rose State College as a math tutor in subjects up to College Algebra. I have earned a bachelor degree from UCO in forensic science which required knowledge of Calculus.
I like to initially view the student’s way of working out the problems. This way I know what they do well and where they are making mistakes, and the places I can help them do better. I am very patient and able to break down things so the student will understand. I love math and like teach it to others.

I enjoy helping people in any way that I can. I would like to help your child be able to understand what he or she does not have a good grasp on as well as hopefully teach them how to be academically successful. While teaching my father how to use the computer, I learned patience. While employed at the high school, I learned that not only does every child learn at a different rate, but what works for one, does not work for everyone. This knowledge gave me the ability to be creative in figuring out how to best help each student, whether it was reading something aloud to give the student a better understanding of the subject or using an example that the student would understand rather than those in the book.

I have tutored non-professionally for some time. Doing so has provided me with experience with a variety of students ranging from the first grade level to college freshman. I cater accordingly to each level of student, always exercising patience and approaching topics from multiple angles. I understand that some students are visual, kinesthetic, or auditory learners, or a combination of all three.
