Basic Learning Skills is one of my top subjects! My certifications are Elementary Education K-6, Education Administration K-12, and Early Childhood Education level II. My experience includes classroom teacher grades K, 3, 4,& 5 (Brunswick County Schools); GED preparation and remediation (Western Piedmont Community College); Summer Program and School-Age Coordinaor (For Kids Only Child Development Center); instructor for Introduction to Education (UNCW and Western Piedmont), and private tutoring-students ranging from early elementary school through college.

Tutoring differs from teaching in that "style" is replaced by method. Some of the methods I have used in the past are rhythm and music, neumonic devices, and of course, drill and practice. I have been told that I am gifted with presenting material in novel ways.
As mentioned in my earlier description, I have eighteen years experience as an educator. I have taught students of all ages from early childhood through college and non-traditional adult education. I believe in making learning fun and engaging by relating concepts to points of interest for the individual student.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love children. I am the Youth Director at my Local church and I believe children learn best my hand on. I am very patient with children and children love my care free style. I want them to be free and honest when they are around me. It is my prayer that I can make the difference in a student whether they be young or old.
I believe that everyone should be a life long learner. I have earned two Associate Applied Sciene degres in General Office Technology and Early Childhood Educaiton,which have helped me to have a desire to help young people excel in life. A Little Bit About Me...

While at Hampton University, I obtained a Bachelors of Science degree in Chemistry and maintained a 3.96 GPA. I have taken math courses in pre-calculus I&II, calculus I,II,&III, and Statistics. I have tutored and taught students enrolled in the Upward Bound Program in Bladen County and at Hampton University. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that every child has a different manner of obtaining and learning information and it is the instructor's duty to identify each student's learning style and to teach accordingly. Think of a key ring with all sorts of different keys on the ring. As a teacher you must try one key on the key chain at a time. Sometimes the first key will open the door to a child's success and other times it could be the fifth or seventh key. Teacher's need to be patient and work with their student's to best identify their learning styles and needs.
