My goal when teaching a student is to explain the subject in the most simplest way possible. I am an active teacher, especially when allowed to create my own curriculum. I love to incorporate lectures with powerpoints, videos with discussions, and book readings with field trips. I think the best way to get young people involved in learning is to keep their minds thinking and never reach the point of predictability. The last thing people accuse me of is monotony or predictability, and it is this very quality that keeps then engaged and makes me a very likable and successful educator.

A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy helping children discover new areas, encouraging them to move way from the trite and trivial to new and daring concepts in their research. Often a trivial fact that they never knew will open the doors to opportunities they never envisioned. My son has many interests, and I have always encouraged him to explore them beyond the basics - he can now engage in some amazing discussions with my father, a former Army Ranger, about events in Vietnam that I know were never taught in my history classes.
