It is very important to assess what the student already knows and the level of understanding they hold at the beginning. It is also important to make sure that what they know is correct and that they are not confused or misunderstanding the material. After which, getting to know the individual style of learning for each student will insure that time is used efficiently and that the student is understanding and retaining the material being taught. A Little Bit About Me...

I completed all of my field work in school 2006-2008 and completed my student teaching in 2009. During this time, I planned and taught lessons in all subjects to grades Kindergarten through 5th grade. Along with teaching lessons, I also tracked students progress, and worked with students one on one to help struggling students succeed. I have worked as a tutor/ instructor at Sylvan Learning Center for the past year now. Here, I instruct students from grades Kindergarten to middle school in both Reading and Math. I teach both "Beginning Reading" and "Academic "Reading" and teach math from the 1st grade level up to pre-algebra and geometry.
