I love experiencing the gratification of seeing the success of those I somehow influenced or assisted. I have assisted students/individuals meet educational and developmental goals ranging in age of 0 to college age. I believe everyone has the ability to learn when they can relate and apply the subject matter to their personal interests and area of specialization. As the daughter of educators, I have been exposed to the education system all my life. As a result of this exposure, I became very interested in tutoring and teaching. I taught for two years as a substitute teacher before attending law school. I previously worked as a substitute teacher with Morrow Elementary in North Lauderdale, Florida where I taught test-taking strategies for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test. Most recently, I have volunteered with Youth Encouragement services as a tutor.
Based on previous experience I have discovered that the same teaching style does not work for every child. I find that explaining each topic and asking the child question gives a clear indication of their understanding. Based on responses to the questions adjustments may be made to address each child's need.
