Laura Emerick Dyslexia and Reading Specialist Laura Emerick received her Bachelor's Degree in Child Development from Auburn University in 2008. As a previous 1st Grade Teacher at a school for dyslexia, Laura has extensive experience teaching and tutoring children with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences. She is part of a select few in the Kansas City area who is trained in the Orton-Gillingham method – a systematic approach to teaching validated by over 70 years of time-tested practice and methodology. Proficiency in reading is a great tool for comprehension. I have taught Early Childhood Education since 2000 to 2002 at Angel Academy Preschool.
