A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is one in which I find ways to relate content to the students' everyday lives. I like to balance textbook knowledge with practical applications and cultural relevance. I also am a firm believer in planning lessons that require higher order thinking skills yet do not become overwhelming. Since the beginning of the era in which the special education population has began being mainstreamed into regular education classrooms in most schools, I have developed a great practice of differentiated instruction. Mathematics is a joy and privilege to teach students because of its extensive relationship to the world and connection to everyday life. I believe that you need to relate to a child’s prior knowledge in order to gain an understanding of future material. I value a child’s discovery of a topic and act as a guide in my students learning. I challenge my students to think critically but also acknowledge their need to learn differently. A Little Bit About Me...

I am currently enrolled in a Post-Baccalaureate Teaching Certification program at Kutztown University for Secondary Education English and the Masters of Education program for Curriculum and Instruction. I have a 4.0 GPA in my Graduate program and have volunteered in K-5 elementary classrooms over the past three years. I am experienced in writing research papers in both MLA and APA formats. In addition, I have extensive writing experience as a freelance writer. A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate student at Immaculata University, I have learned what it means to be an effective teacher. I will be student-teaching 11th and 12th grade English at Renaissance Academy in the fall. I have also been hired as the head men's golf coach at Valley Forge Christian College and have worked with kids of all ages at my church for the past 3 years. Additionally, I have worked as a band coach at the Rock & Roll After School in Phoenixville.
