When tutoring, I try to meet the students needs by utilizing methods of teaching which take into consideration the student's learning style. I explain concepts using visual representations as well as numerical/algebraic models. A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching and use a variety of different methods. I incorporate different activities into each lesson to reinforce what we have learned. With my younger students I also incorporated a lot of music into the class that helped them with their verb conjugations, pronouns, etc. To keep the students' attention I am always keeping them moving, whether it be with an activity or just simply writing phrases on the board. My teaching style is simple but effective. With mathematics and physics, the student retains an idea, with the added benefit of a solid intuition if he or she is fortunate enough to work through a problem using his or her's own insights. Most recently I have been selected to conduct clases in math for students wanting to get their GED. I have worked in the public school sytem as an aide for special needs children in the middle school. At the middle schoool I was asked to do tutoring for students in math. I have taught business practices for a large financial services company. I taught computer topics at a community college. I have also taught wood carving to students from age 12 to 98. Lastly I have taught Sunday School for the last 7 years to middle school students.
I try to find an area of interest in the student and then show how learning the material we are discussing relates to that interest. It is important that they understand that learning is closely tied to their happiness in life. I find analogies to be my favorite style in making points to be learned.
