A Little Bit About Me...

My entire background revolves around teaching. I taught in a Preschool while I was working on my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. While there I worked with all ages from Infants to the School Age children. After completing my degree I then went to teach in a public school. The first year I taught and ran the Preschool Program of about 50 children, ages 3 to 5 years. The next four years I taught third grade where our emphasis was on reading comprehension, analytical thinking skills, and writing. After leaving the public school arena I completed my MBA and then moved on to teaching adults. Lately I have been working at a local hospital instructing Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, and Clinic Managers on integrating their new Electronic Health Records program.

Over the last 4-6 years I've had to teach coworkers the intricacies of engine technology (basic hydrocarbon breakdown and nitrogen depleting systems) to basic geometry and electrical circuits ( from creating concentric bends in pipe to large scale automated systems). I have not taught english to an 11th grader in a public school, but I make it a fact to learn everyday and spread the knowledge to whomever i come into contact with and is willing to learn. I have recently been studying and implementing hydrogen generating systems and the effects of injecting it into internal combustion engines.
I believe teaching is best learned though practical examples (especially math). because I used to say the same thing that I'm sure that kids today are saying. Since graduating from Missouri State in the fall of 2009 with my Bachelor's Degree in Spanish education I have been substituting with Sparta schools and Republic schools. I have also been tutoring a student in Spanish. I completed my student teaching in the fall of 2009 with Ozark High School and Springfield Catholic School. Before then I spent several years working with kids at book festivals and in Mexico through Second Baptist Church. I also tutored special needs children at Ozark North Elementary during my high school years.
