A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored many kids in different fields including math, science, and English. I am a recent neuroscience graduate at Michigan State University and have quite a broad background in science so I would be able to help in many of the fields that I have listed for that as I have taken some advanced courses in that field. I also have experience working in tutoring centers and tutoring at my high school when I was part of the National Honor Society, in which I was more focused on math tutoring. I have been a nurse for 10 years, 3 of which I taught nursing. During this time I taught Anatomy & Physiology, Pharmacology, Trauma & Emergencies, and Pathophysiology. This experience, along with 7 years of caring for patients in the hospital, has given me the ability to help students to better understand these subjects and apply them to the clinical area. I just finished my first year of teaching science for grades 6-12 in a remote school in Nevada. It has been noted from a previous employer that I can shift very quickly between different groups of students to adjust to what is developmentally appropriate. I relate very well to both the junior high and high school age levels. I was the 8th grade class advisor and the junior high track coach. I maintained the science curriculum for a seven period, four day school week. A Little Bit About Me...

As a recent college graduate (and current grad student), I am very much in tune with the subjects I am able to teach, and well versed in most fields of science. I graduated from the Honor's College at Xavier University, which required the completion of accelerated courses, even in areas outside my major. Currently, I am enrolled in a Master's program at Grand Valley State in the areas of Cell and Molecular Biology, with an emphasis on Biotechnology. Additionally, I am the 2nd oldest of 5; I've had three younger siblings to tutor my entire life, and all three have always been perfectly willing to give their unabashed feedback.
