During and after earning my degree, I spent almost nine years working in healthcare as a medical assistant, teaching patients in a one on one environment. One just has to be acquainted with the learners' style and then the subject, lesson plan, and displaying of information can be customized more suitedly, to the student. The primary obligation of a tutor is to show the pupil that big, intimidating chunks of academic work, whether they be assignments, units, or even entire classes, can be broken down into logical sequences of more manageable parts. To accomplish that, I focus first on my demeanor. When struggling in school, it is easy to panic, and if the tutor is relaxed, calm, and deliberate, then that catches on and the session can proceed in a level-headed manner.
