My comments on tutoring Piano : I can teach/play in all styles, and greatly prefer working with youth ages 13 and above. I can teach beginning and intermediate students. I have an easy-going style, and work best with self-motivated students.

Flexible. I am trained classically and appreciate the need for the learning of that technique, but am more than willing to accommodate the student's varied musical interests and tastes.
I have over 25 years of experience in the music field, and have worked as a professional pianist in churches, theaters, schools, and colleges. I accompany choirs, private vocalists, voice classes, juries, recitals, and musical theater productions. I work very well with older youth/teens, and adults who are self-motivated, and have a strong interest in learning.

I am an experienced, caring tutor.

I have over 10 years of experience tutoring. I have tutored elementary to college students and even taught basic reading through Sylvan's Ace-It tutoring. I have extensive experience working one-on-one and also in groups. I was a Supplemental Instruction Leader all through my college years which allowed me to work with groups and instructors, creating sample tests and quizzes, and helping individuals with different learning styles. I have assisted others with learning Spanish, even when English was not the first language, and helped high school up to college students.

In spring of 2008 I graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Music in jazz performance. During my time at ASU, I had the opportunity to work with many world-renowned educators and musicians; gaining valuable insight into the world of professional music performance. I have had experience teaching guitar and trombone privately in Arizona since 2004 in addition to playing and recording with well-known groups in the area. Music has also afforded me the opportunity to travel and in 2009, I was fortunate enough to be selected to compete in two jazz trombone competitions in Aarhus, Denmark as part of that year’s International Trombone Festival. A Little Bit About Me...

I really enjoy working with children, primarily in the lower grades. I am patient, caring, and easy going. I strongly believe that children are most successful when they are able to learn through doing.
