I have been substitute teaching for 5 years. Within that time I decided that teaching was for me and went on to get my degree and certificate to teach. I have completed several long-term substitute teaching positions, picking up where a teacher left off, often times unexpectedly. I have taught classes in the elementary, middle and high school.
My philosophy is that education is power. Knowledge is our greatest defense and our greatest weapon. The second most important thing about being a mentor is to create understanding about the underlying principle of whatever it is he or she is learning about. Once you understand the underlying principle, the "how to" stuff becomes a *lot* easier to understand and remember. A Little Bit About Me...

My teaching style is to have a set of problems made up for the students to observe as examples to help understand certain chapters. I will assign additional problems if needed and focus on the subject matter that is the hardest for the individual to understand.
I have taken statistics and gotten an A in the course and still have all course materials to give a general overview of statistics and how to use SPSS.
