Born in a family with American Sign Language as a primary language. I am fluent in ASL including Total Communication. I have grown to love the language and understand the culture that comes with it. Teachers appointed me as their instructors for beginning ASL while I was in high school. Assisted teachers in tutoring the language. I was invited to speak at Youth Character Symposium at Webster University about my identity as a deaf person, educating others about the Deaf culture as well as our language. Everywhere I go, I am always happy to share with the others interested in our culture the beautiful language.

I have wanted to teach students my entire life. I began tutoring when I went to college. There I tutored my peers in composition and literature. As I continued my college career, I had three semesters where I taught grades 7-12. I received my BS in Education in December of 2007 and began teaching high school English at the sophomore level at a local high school. While working there, I got a job offer closer to home and began that in July of 2008. There I taught 9-12 British Literature, College Composition, Creative Writing, American Literature, and Drama. There, I tutored two fourth grade ESL students, an Italian boy and a Korean girl, primarily in math and reading.
