Majoring in communications in college exposed me to a variety of literature. I took classes in English, script writing, and literature. I also learned about vocal production and public speaking. As I earned a Master of Arts in the dramatic performance field, I taught freshman students a basic speech course for two years. After graduation, I continued onto college faculty and taught for two more years teaching public speaking, voice and communication, and drama courses. During my junior and senior year in college, I TA’ed a finance class called options pricing for two semesters. Options pricing was a difficult subject. I worked very hard to receive an A- for the course, which turned out to be my favor. I had insight to the intellectual hurdles other students had to overcome to master the material. So, teaching them came very naturally. In addition, I abandoned the lecture format for a very interactive teaching format.
