Poetry is one of my top subjects! My poetry has been published in writing journals and quarterlies. I also have extensive experience working with college level students on their poetry.

I began teaching at eighteen. I’d just graduated high school and wasn’t ready for college, so I worked as a personal trainer at a gym within jogging distance of my house. I worked with clients one-on-one helping structure their workouts to their needs, and while I may be stretching it to equate teaching with providing pointers on proper form or advising on ways to augment a stagnant routine, but I think that gap year spent in the gym was when my proclivity for teaching first became incipient. Learning is a lifelong process!

My very first year of teaching was at the Lehigh Valley Performing Arts High School, and I also taught for two years at Northern Lehigh High School. I spent several years in Omaha teaching creative writing at the High School and College level, giving classes at Creighton University, the University of Nebraska at Omaha, and Metro Tech.
