After receiving a PhD in chemistry from Purdue University I worked over 20 years in discovery research areas. I then turned to my calling of education and became a certified science teachers for grades 8-12. I taught middle school science for five years. I have since retired but love to stay connected to science and math education by tutoring. I have the gift of being able to take complex subject matter, make it easy to undersand and connect it to the real world.
Students come with various background and motivation levels and ways of learning. A tutor needs to be able to discover within the student the best way for that student to learn. I love working with kids. I try to make things as simple as I can in hopes that the student will understand it. I think it is important to praise kids ( ex. good job) to boost their self esteem. It helps motive them to strive harder . My goal is to help students to excel in academics through my expertise so that they can build a solid foundation upon the knowledge that I have shared with them.
