A Little Bit About Me...

I like to teach by first explaining the concept, having a book or something the child can keep and study out of, provide practice problems to the student, and last but not least help them with their homework.
I have tutored since my 7th grade year at the public library and have been tutoring ever since. I want to expand my groups and help kids success in school no matter what subject it is. I attended a math academy when I was little, Kumon, and now I want to create something like that. I have had a lot of experience with kids because I have volunteered at many hospitals around in Katy, I am a member of the Red Cross Association, and I babysit occasionally.

I think it takes a lot for one teacher to reach all of types of students who are all at different levels of interest in the subject being taught as well as at different levels of understanding. However, I feel it is the teacher's responsibility to give them all equal opportunity to learn. It is not just about grades and assignments, that is just the means to an end, but it is about learning. In order for the students to learn, the teacher needs to be passionate about the students as well as the subject that is being taught. That will instill in the students a desire to learn and understand.
