My comments on tutoring French : I lived for 10 years in France, near Paris. I taught for 2 years at a school in Paris and after moving to the US, I taught French at all levels .

I taught German for 15 years in Public as well as Private schools in North Carolina. I am a native German speaker and received my teaching degree in Germany with a major in German. Besides teaching in my native country, I also taught German to French students ( 2 years) while living in the suburbs of Paris for 10 years. After my move to the US I first taught French for several years in a charter school before the school added German as a Foreign Language besides French and Spanish. My experience of teaching German covers all grade levels including elementary , middle school as well as High School, grades 9-12. including AP German. I received the 2013 National German teacher award for NC !!

French is one of my top subjects! I have a B.A. in French from UNC-Chapel Hill and taught at the high school level in the Florida public schools. Over the years that I lived in Japan, I also taught French to college students, as well as tutoring French. I also have visited France a number of times.

I have a very relaxed style of teaching. Not so relaxed that there is not order in the classroom, but a style designed to put students at ease and to put them into a mood for learning. I encourage participation, active participation in class, and I encourage questions. I seek to explain so that students understand perfectly, and I will not give up until I am convinced that all have a grasp of the subject that I am teaching.

Of all the things I did during my Peace Corps service, teaching the students at the village middle school was my favorite. I loved working with them, especially one on one, when they would come to my house for informal tutoring sessions.
