While in high school, I was a certified adult literacy tutor. Since I've had children, I have been an active volunteer in their classes - preschool through elementary school. I hold a BS from PSU in Finance with a minor in Economics. I earned my MBA while working full time in less than 2 years. In my last position, I was the training team lead for IT and policy for the Department of the Navy's financial card program. I have taught classes as small as 4-5 individuals to as large as 1200 students. I love to teach and to see the students actually understanding the concept and putting the context into action. I try to teach the big picture first - if the student understands why they need the subject and how it will benefit them in their future, it makes the learning relevant. I have recently earned my BS in Accounting from Wilson College in 2009. I have just finished up my first tax season at H&R Block in Chambersburg where I received very beneficial experience. I have researched and written numerous research papers at Wilson College and presented various Powerpoint presentations also. My teaching style comes from 15 years of teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and being a Youth Group Leader as well.
