As a Penn State graduate, I was motivated to achieve a high level of excellence in my teaching career. I maintained my standing on the Dean's List all eight semesters of my college career and received numerous scholarships and awards. I was chosen as one of the 56 Penn State Elementary Education majors to participate in the Professional Development School (PDS), a year long, full-time student teaching internship in collaboration with the State College Area School District. I have been very successful in academics throughout my education. I was valedictorian of my high school, and I received the top honors in English, French, and Accounting. I also maintained a 4.0 average throughout my college education. I love working with children of all ages and abilities and helping them with academics. I have been working with preschool to high school age students since 2004. Hands on, Practice based, through step by step instruction. Visual learning whenever applicable. Geometry, algebra, physics, and some calculus are in my range of teaching. I am very patient as long as the student is trying to learn and cares about the work. Mental support of students is half the battle. I am comfortable tutoring lower level math classes, mechanical design, or other engineering classes. Writing classes such as English, literature, or fine arts are fine as well. Over the past twelve years I have taught a range of subjects including basic Math and English to students with a range of learning difficulties, including dyslexia, ADHD, and Autism.
