I have a very hands-on approach, using real life examples that children will understand. For example, if there's a math problem involving subtraction, I would use Cheerios cereal or coins. I would say something like "Let's say I gave you 20 Cheerios and took away 5 of them, how may Cheerios would you have left?" I believe that we all learn in different ways and it just takes patience and observation to understand the ways in which each child learns.
