I love seeing children learn and grow. My teaching style is a whole, part, whole approach. I teach the abstract concept and then the practical application. After the application is learned I relate it back to the abstract concept and alternate applications. I encourage mistakes because they are a valuable source of knowledge and learning. I don’t criticize, but am very encouraging and open to the experiences of the pupil in teaching the material. I believe all people are capable of learning and succeeding.

I have attended three years of training with the Learning Success Institute of California, which specializes in a learning styles philosophy designed for every student, but most particularly for those who struggle in various skill areas and who have been labeled with various learning disabilities. Using this philosophy, I try to help each student know their own unique learning style, thereby giving them a key to unlock some doors that may not have been opened before.
