Psychology is one of my top subjects!

While at the University of Tulsa I have tutored in both math and chemistry, so I have experience with those subjects in particular. Though I received a bachelors in Psychology I was also pre-med, so I was required to take several heavy science courses as well. As such I am also proficient in several biological subjects.
Generally I will try to ask questions to see which specific points a student needs assistance with and make sure they understand the material on a fundamental level. I also believe that practice and hands-on experiences teach the most, so there tends to be an emphasis on working through problems step-by-step than lecturing. Ultimately I am flexible, and can change my style and routine to accommodate the students' needs.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that all students learn differently and should be treated as so; with this being said i believe that each student should work at their own pace and should be helped to find strategies that help them learn.
I currently have a bachelors degree in sociology with a minor in elementary education. I am first and foremost a listener. I'm laid back and patient but understand that success on exams and in school does not come to most without hard work and challenging yourself to go out on a limb. I believe that the best way to learn is to make materials apply to you and things going on around you.
From early on in my high school career I understood that passing AP tests could mean graduating from college in 3 years, saving money for grad school, and a chance to get into the professional world sooner. That's exactly what I did. I had to take some summer school and intersession classes, but I endured. I have loved education since I was a child, and being the daughter of two educators gave me a lot of early learning opportunities. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Education from Northeastern State Univeristy. I was a para professional for 5 years and worked with special education classrooms, then I taught for 5 years.
