Is she simply bored with the subject? The approach I take with the child depends on the answers to these questions. I feel it is important for the learner to understand that there is a reason for making the effort to learn each subject. In math, I like to assign the numbers and equations to subjects the learner likes, such as pizza, sports or music, for example. Coming from an academic family with a father who is a Philosophy professor and a mother who studied child developmental psychology, I understand the importance of a quality education. I earned two bachelor degrees, one in Spanish and one in Anthropology. I have linguistic and cultural competence because of many years of traveling. I am an avid reader in Spanish and English.
