A Little Bit About Me...

As an UNCC graduate, I got the opportunity to obtain a broad and in-depth knowledge in the field of Electronic Engineering. I earned a BS and an MS in Electronic Engineering which gave me the opportunity of gain an understanding in the areas of math and science, including Calculus, Differential Equations, Statistics, Physics and Quantum Physics. In addition, I have been able to use this knowledge in the past ten years and apply it in the industry, exercising problem solving skills in the engineering field. While I was in college, I worked as a Tutor helping other college students in the areas of Math and Physics. A Little Bit About Me...

I have just recently started to pursue my doctoral degree in educational leadership at University of Phoneix. I have always had a passion for mentoring, teaching, and advising young people. I have had tons of experience working with youth and mentoring them. At age 18, I even started a youth outreach ministry called Serenity Ambassadors for Christ reaching at risk teenagers through music and biblical teaching. At the same time, I was teaching and advising youth at my church and surrounding areas. I earned my Masters Degree in Theology and Counseling in May 2008 at Oral Roberts University.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe that first and foremost, teachers should inspire students to not only live up to their own potential, but to exceed their expectations and realize that they can meet and surpass any goal they set for themselves. I encourage students to take risks, knowing that I am behind them being fully supportive. My teaching style varies depending on what student I am teaching. I enjoy tailoring lessons to the specific child. Being able to do this is, in my opinion, one of the biggest advantages of working in a one-on-one setting. I have been a classroom teacher for the past four years in both elementary and middle school. Both of my parents are educators, so I spent a great deal of time tutoring and volunteering in schools prior to my teaching career. I also have a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University. My strengths are in the areas of language arts, reading, and social sciences.
I like to observe children to determine what learning styles best fit their personalities and strengths. I believe in the capabilities of all children, when their teachers find the proper ways to motivate and support their learning.
