A Little Bit About Me...

In 2002 I graduated with a degree in biotechnology. During the last semester of school, I was a substitute teacher, where I learned a lot about children and different teaching styles. After graduation, I pursued a career as a chemist, but I always maintained a second part-time job teaching, in some fashion. Usually, that teaching involved a pool. I have been a swimming lesson instructor for 10 years and have been a YMCA swim coach for 3 seasons, coaching over 200 children per year. In these opportunities, I've learned a lot about interacting with children. I am also a trainer for my coworkers and new employees who join our team. Throughout High School and College, I excelled in Math and Science, and use many of the concepts that I learned each day in the laboratory.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe in good classroom management and organized lesson plans. I set appropriate boundaries and expect the students to follow the rules that are set before them. That being said I try to make the learning as fun as possible but organized. I also try to bring in anything that they are interested in to make them enjoy the subject they are learning.
