Although instructors/tutors have a preferred teaching style, I will often mix in some elements of other styles. If I wish to take a more open approach to my teaching, I include a blend of various styles which is very effective. Teacher-centered, where the teacher is expert and authority in presenting information works well with students who need little direction from the instructor, and/or those who accept responsibility for their own learning. While in other situations, I will take a learner-centered approach thus viewing my role as more of a facilitator of student learning.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have obtained my masters degree in education and now have three years experience teaching math. In particular, I have instructed 7th and 8th grade middle school students as well as 9th – 12th grade high school students. Specific classes include various mathematic disciplines up through Geometry and Trigonometry. With respects to Spanish, I am Hispanic and grew up in a Spanish speaking household. I took 3 formal years of Spanish in high school and an additional year in college. In the majority of the jobs I had, I was used as translator for Spanish speaking clients.
