I have performed special studies in a Proteins and Nucleic Acids Laboratory. Indeed, I have researched enzyme and protein isolation and kinetics. In an Instrumental Analysis Laboratory, I performed independent research associated with lead poisoning in Third World countries due to improper destruction of lead-containing electronic circuitry. To be sure, I constructed an experiment to analyze the amount of lead in an electronic circuit board by means of Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy. My teaching license was in art educ./K-12. I was a member of The Gamma Beta Phi Society, the top 15% of my class. My gpa was 3.2 and I won two scholarships. I believe students learn best when life-relevance to the subject matter and methodology appropriate to the individual student are incorporated in the teaching approach. I attempt to connect with the students relationally so that they feel at ease in attempting to use the language. Mastering language requires participation of the students. My emphasis is not to teach about the language, but to teach the language.
