My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : I am a certified Reading Specialist, with almost seventeen years of experience teaching reading in elementary grades.

I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education from UNC-Wilmington. I taught first and second grades for ten years in the classroom. While teaching, I returned to school to receive my Master's Degree in Reading (k-12) and certification as a Reading Specialist. I worked as a Reading Teacher for five years, focusing on grades first through third. I also served as a K-2 Instructional Coach. I have enjoyed guiding children through the stages of reading, beginning with letter recognition and book and print awareness, to successfully completing End of Grade tests. My most recent experience has been helping teach a couple students being homeschooled! What an exciting experience! Unfortunately, the family is moving out of state. Hands-on and talk-through methods. I am open to other styles.
I was a ABA therapist for a company around the Fort Campbell, Ky area for over a year. I worked with special needs children, emphasis on autism. I volunteered at a Fort Campbell school and also worked as a substitute teacher. I was TriCare approved at my last job.
