My goal in teaching is to provide the student with the tools to discover and learn new concepts and to apply this knowledge to the learning process. I do not beleive in giving answers, but rather helping the student learn how to find the answers. I am very patient and will go over a concept until it is understood by the student. I enjoy children who are eager to learn, but try to instill a desire to acheive.
As an administrator of a school I oversaw the education of children from Kindergarten through twelfth grade. I have eight years experience teaching algebra I, five years teaching business math. I have eleven years experience teaching English grammar from third grade through twelfth grade. I have taught fourth grade for three years, fifth grade for three years and sixth grade for two years.

I like to work with children of all types. I think that anybody has the capability to learn if they really want to. Everybody learns in a different way and I am willing to work with them any way I can. I am very patient, laid back, and willing to try new ways to help children accomplish their goals. A teacher is their to help them learn and lift their spirits in times of frustration and show them a different approach to the problem. Encouraging the child can make all the difference in the world sometimes when they are about to give up.
I am a graduate from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor Degree in Psychology and about to graduate in May 2011 with another Bachelor degree in Recreational Therapy. I have been working with elementary children for 19 years. I have expericence as a Title 1 Teacher Assistant, Special Education aide, Substitute teacher and Sunday school teacher. I have tutored in reading and math. I am currently attending Ashford University to complete my Early Childhood degree in 2012. I will then continue to get my degree in Special Education.
I love working with children and feel that is my God given talent. I believe that all children can and will learn with the proper time given to them. All children learn differently.
