The most important skill I can teach someone is how. I believe in not only helping students to understand the material but instilling in them a joy of learning. I want students to understand how to get to the answers, why the answers are correct and how to do it themselves. This skill boosts self esteem and confidence. I also believe that it is very important to teach study skills and techniques that can be applied to master any subject or exam. A Little Bit About Me...

My most recent rewarding interaction with kids has been been the result of functioning as a mentor for the LC Bird High School robotics team. I've have been able to motivate many general students to join the “robotics geeks”. I find that all students have something valuable to add to the team if they are just approached and guided appropriately and offered respect. I graduated from high school with honors from a school that never pushed the effectiveness of attending college to students. I maintained my focus and attended Virginia State University in the fall of 2006. My mother was my inspiration, so much that I ventured towards science as my field of study. I chose to be a chemist, allowing myself to go above and beyond the norm. I succeeded as I came upon the completion of my undergraduate studies and obtaining a BS in Chemistry.
