Children can understand visually, verbally or in written form. Each child has different ways of understanding a particular subject and it is important to find out how the child wants to be tutored very early. My style is to have a candid discussion with the child in order to ascertain why the child is having problems with a particular subject and how that child expects to be able to be taught. A Little Bit About Me...

As a second career I wanted to put something back into my community. So as I went back to school a few years ago to complete my MBA, I thought that I wanted to teach in public schools. I was a non-traditional teacher. I therefore had to work as a substitute teacher and as a tutor because I am not yet certified. So I worked as Coach(Academic K-12)and I enjoy it. As soon as I can I will get certified, but tutoring is a wonderful way to learn how to teach and interact.

Since I am an engineering student, I have always been interested and excelled in math and science, so I have tutored many kids in all areas of science and mathematics. I have also tutored in Spanish and French. Last year, I worked with a young man who had dyslexia. I have helped kids of all ages, whether at the elementary, high school, or collegiate level.
