While I am not a teacher by profession, I have successfully tutored a variety of leraners in a variety of subjects, primarily math, english, science. I am the mother of 3 children, two with college degrees and one currently in college. have taught grades k-12 on an emergency basis. may be in one day for fourth grade helping with their studies and the next day be in for high school physics where I basically assign paperwork or might give a test. A Little Bit About Me...

I am an upcoming May 2006 graduate from Allegheny College, majoring in English. Given my background at a small, liberal arts college and being a former biochemistry major, I have a great understanding of language arts, math and science. I have completed a 60 page research project as well completed numerous written projects throughout my college career, that have undoubtedly strengthened my writing skills. A Little Bit About Me...

My approach to teaching is more of a "why" approach. It is more important for students to know why something is or works rather than just how. This approach works well for middle and high school students. It allows students not only to understand the ideas taught but to apply them to other areas as well. I also like to use visual aids as well as conversation. I have found that many of us vary widely in learning styles. Some are visual learners, others are audio learners, and still others are a combination. I work well one-on-one but also enjoy small groups.
