It definitely is important to combine styles. I use direct instruction, as well as guided instruction, and groupwork. It is also important to get to know your students and their specific learning styles. It is helpful to tap into their multiple intelligences and to present information in multiple ways.

have taught grades k-12 on an emergency basis. may be in one day for fourth grade helping with their studies and the next day be in for high school physics where I basically assign paperwork or might give a test.
