A Little Bit About Me...

I believe everyone can do mathematics. It just has to be explained to the student in a way so that he can relate to it. I believe in presenting the material in several different ways so that it can be understood. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with other people and would like to help your child excel in math and science.
I do not have current experience teaching or tutoring for pay. I did some tutoring of high school students and fellow classmates while I was in college. My teaching style is like a coach. I show the student the method to solve the problem and then I observe, correct and praise the student while he/she solves similar problems. It is important to explain the underlining principle in the problem so the student will be able to solve similar problems without just memorizing a few rules. I try to use the best learning style (verbal, logical, visual, auditory, kinesthetic, etc) that fits each student.

At the same time I was teaching as a substitute at the elementary, middle school, and high school level, while acting as Superintendent of the preschool education program at our church.
