My comments on tutoring Piano : Have played piano for 16 years now, and taught piano 7 of those years.

I have a lot of experience in teaching and tutoring. I have tutored for about 10 years now, starting with my fellow classmates while still in school and now tutoring one-on-one, mostly for elementary-aged children. I also teach - I conduct a teenage choir, taught at a Ukrainian school for 7 years (grammar, writing, reading, vocabulary), and give individual piano lessons. I've received my Bachelor's in Elementary Education and have had some experience teaching all grades K-5. I am currently working on my Master's as a Teacher Leader, with an endorsement in ESL.

My teaching style involves what the student wants to achieve out of my teachings. For example i ask the students during their first lesson, "What musical groups and styles inspire you?" This way I can get a feel for what they are looking for. I also do from beginner to advanced theory techniques with notation, playing with a metronome, flash cards, etc. Teaching is a HUGE part of my life and i couldn't be easier to get along with. Love working with all ages, especially the little ones considering i love to be a role model to them. In May 1997, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Lake Superior State University with a major in English Language and Literature and a minor in French Language and Literature. In May 1998, I graduated from Michigan State University with a Michigan Provisional Teaching Certificate in Secondary Education. My experiences as a technical writer, web designer, and writing tutor have been invaluable and have strengthened my skills both as a writer and as a teacher of writing. Taught science and history in private schools; managed a private piano studio in Virginia and Kentucky. I've been a non profit director for many years. Additionally I've served as a church organist in three states, including Kentucky, Virginia and texas.
