A Little Bit About Me...

I have always had a passion for teaching. While attending college I had the opportunity to work with younger children. In high school, I also had the opportunity to work in the elemntary school as an aide for the 3rd grade classes. I am hoping to return to school and get my bachelors degree in elementary education as soon as I can. My teaching style is on hands on and using lots praise for hard work. I enjoy working with others and seeing them succee. For the visual learner, they need to see things written down for it to stay with you. For the auditory learner, they hear sounds distinctly and can easily remember a song tune or lyrics; and for the kinesthetic learner, they like to learn by moving and possibly acting out things. I worked as a tutor for the Computer Science department at New Mexico State University. I helped students learn and understand the concepts of the first computer class (CS101) and enjoyed it quite a bit! I have a degree in Journalism and Spanish. I have experience writing for English and Spanish media, particularly for TV and radio. Teaching was my second career choice and sometimes I regret not taking that path.
