I want to help and make a difference in each student that I tutor. I like to reach out to all of my students. I learn each of my students name and have them see that I want them to well. I also feel that students should be given assignments to work on during class and not lectured the entire time. I have always had a passion for teaching and helping to educate people. I have earned a BS in Business Administration and a MS in Accounting. Through my education and experience I have an extensive set of business and grammar skills. I have completed four years of Latin and enjoyed it. During high school I took AP History and Government and past the AP Exam. The most important skill I can teach someone is how. I believe in not only helping students to understand the material but instilling in them a joy of learning. I want students to understand how to get to the answers, why the answers are correct and how to do it themselves. This skill boosts self esteem and confidence. I also believe that it is very important to teach study skills and techniques that can be applied to master any subject or exam. Sometimes students get overwhelmed, but one of the most important things a student can learn is how to plan ahead and use their time efficiently. In 2007, I graduated from Penn State with a plan of attending graduate school for Creative Writing. I was devastated when I received three rejection letters from schools I admired. Instead of letting that devastation break me down, I accepted a job as an SAT/ACT Preparation Teacher at a learning center.
