I have a number of useful skills and abilities that I bring to a classroom. I have a very broad set of educational areas in which I am comfortable. I have a B.S. in Biology, a B.A. in History, and a minor in Political Science, as well as a Masters in teaching. I possess significant teaching experience, having taught American History, Earth Science, and General Science at the secondary level. My early teaching and learning style was to do as many problems that were thrown at me in class or the text. I learned quickly that you need to understand the problem in order to solve problems that aren't set up for you. As a high school student I participated in peer tutoring. While in high school I volunteered to serve as a tutor in Algebra, Geometry, Chemistry, Zoology, and Biology. I graduated with 27 AP credits which helped me complete a B.S. at Clarke College in 3 years. At Clarke I found that tutoring my peers helped both the student and me. As a biology major at Clarke College I took many courses in science including biology, chemistry, and physics. Clarke is a liberal arts college so I took a variety of courses including English and History.
