My mother tongue is German. I graduated from University in 2000. My major was Sociology (social sciences) and I graduated with a Master's Degree in my home country Austria. During my university education, I participated in an exchange program and spent one semester in the US (UTC, Tennessee, Chattanooga). As a student, I tutored kids between 6-17 years of age in various subjects, mainly foreign languages and German. After my graduation in Austria, I worked as a German/English translator for 8 years and then moved to the US. I have been living in Wadsworth, OH, since May 2009.

I tutored fellow students regularly in Spanish, French, and German all 4 years of college, as I studied in Europe and Mexico, and was placed in advanced college levels my first semester in college. In the garment industry I used Spanish daily with subcontractors. In the hospitality industry I was used as a greeter for foreign language conventions, and to interpret foreign language E-mails. I spent 6 weeks as a 3rd grade Spanish student teacher in college, and the students were sad I was leaving-they loved Spanish while I was there. I am a believer in incorporating 'play acting' scenarios as part of teaching and of breaking down sentences, phrases, and words that more deeply imbed the logic behind the way the language is spoken.
