When I teach I try to make the student feel more at ease with the subject. Yes this material is difficult but with persistence it not only do you succeed in academia but you end up discovering something amazing. While I am patient and encouraging, I do have little tolerance for excuses. If how I teach is not working, I will find another way looking beyond the standard text if need be.
