A Little Bit About Me...

I have tutored many friends and family throughout highschool and college and my teaching methods have spoke for themselves. I like to teach at that learners pace and let them start what they are good at and develop their knowledge from there. I am very active in answering questions and like to be a visual teacher since I am a visual person. I like to take a step by step approach to math and accounting because that is the easiest way to learn. I do my best to make sure my student understands the information and will not move forward with any new material unless they fully understand the concepts.

I was let go from a local company earlier this year. I have decided to make a career change and my goal is to teach math at the high school level. I have a year of college to be certified. I'm a full student at CCC, and will take the Pedagogy requirements at Elmira College. I intend to tutor and substitute teach this winter and spring during college. In industry, I was a Mechanical Engineer and spent time in management. I have a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a MBA. I spent ten years in the Army and National Guard. A Little Bit About Me...

I feel it is important to understand what is different and unique about every student. Not all students will learn in the same way, nor will they find their desire to learn in the same way. I feel it is my duty as a teacher to find what these ways are for every student. Differentiation is vital to the learning process and can only be executed effectively if you know your students.
In high school I tutored junior high students who were having trouble in with school. After high school I joined the U.S Navy, where I trained junior personal for three years. I used my G.I bill Benefits to attend the University of Connecticut, where I received my Bachelors in History with a minor in Political Science.
