A Little Bit About Me...

During the past four years of my undergraduate study, I have been given many opportunities to work and explore outside of my degree in piano performance. I was able to take a class about working with exceptional learners. Outside of the classroom, I have had the opportunity to counsel children with special needs during summer programs and a winter ski program. A Little Bit About Me...

Because I enjoy and see the wonder in science and I like to show that to students. If they see a reason to want the knowledge, and see how it can expand their horizons, then they will be more open to learning. A common problem with individuals needing tutoring is that they sometimes do not think they have the "smarts" to learn the subject. My first objective is to show them they have the "stuff" to get it! Then I show them how it can be fun. This needs to be balanced with the practical need to get passing grades and complete the course work. My style is marked with a belief in the student and I encourage them and acknowledge their progress.
