My comments on tutoring Testing Strategies : I have taught this subject at both primary and secondary levels in my school district.

I have worked as a Special Education Instructional Assistant for the past 8 years. I am currently attending school to become a special education teacher. I have experience teaching many different students from various grade levels and have tracked their academic progression. I have ran several reading and math interventions for my school sites for kindergarten through 8th grade.
Interactive modeling of examples, repetition, and simplifying subject matter are key components of my teaching style. Many students have difficulty relating to academic material due the lack being given time to practice example assignments. I also teach universal strategies of how to study material to fully understand assignments.

My students often say I can’t be a teacher because they “just get it" when I explain. Even so, my degree is in math and I've taught professionally and privately. I have a history of maintaining high scores and would rather show why something works than how to follow steps. I don't expect students to love math or do it "my way" but I want students to know math isn't scary.
