I have a BS from the university of wisconsin oshkosh. My area of study was Professional chemistry with a biochem emphisis. I have taken courses in physics, materials science, biochem, molecular and cell biology, organic chemistry physical chemistry, inorganic chemistry, ect. I have 3+ years of experience working as a process chemist in a manufacturing and research and development setting.
I have some experience as a swimming instructor as well as a privet tutor for a non traditional student who was having a hard time grasping the concepts of all science not just chemistry. I have always enjoyed discussing science related topics in an acidemic and professinal atmosphere.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe a good teacher will be able to convey the information in way best-suited to the student. A teacher can be extremely knowledgable, but the student must be enabled to learn through motivation and having the material accessible/understandable. I want to make sure the student is on the same page as me, and understands concepts/approaches to learning rather than just memorizing the material.
During my research-based M.Sc. study in Microbiology, I TA'ed three undergraduate courses (General Biology & Introduction to Microbiology). Over the years, I have become more aware of myself so that I can learn more efficiently. I love working with kids of all ages. All children are unique and they all learn in different ways. I believe its the teachers responsibllity to understand how their students learn best and then help communicate the curriculum to them in a way that they will best uderstand and retain that knowledge.
I was homeschooled for the majority of my education which enabled me to assit my younger brothers and sisters in their studies. I taught a few Science classes including botony and a study of birds and have tutored in highschool math as well. I played volleyball, took 3 years of piano, and was a member of Chior as well. As a graduate of Marquette University with a degree in biology, I have had an extensive amount of education. I have mentored and turored high school students through Upward Bound at Marquette, I was a teen coach teaching leadership skills through Urban Underground and have tutored personally biology, math, and reading subjects along with study skills. I love working with children I find it important that children enjoy learning.
It is very important that children enjoy learning at an early age. I like to give children the opportunity to be hands on and use as many learning supplies as possible from note cards to games. Learning comes with time so it is important to be patient and let the child understand they are important along with motivating them.
