My comments on tutoring Algebra II : I am a certified secondary math teacher in Kentucky with a professional degree (ABD) in curriculum and instruction with an emphases in mathematics education and assessment.I have 16 years of high school teaching experience and taught Algebra 2 several times over those years. I also served as math department chair, a mentor teacher, and primary curriculum writer. I was blessed with several awards, including Teacher of the Year, Excellence in Education(from Emerson Electric) and the Loeb Award (from St. Louis Science Center for excellence in math/science education).

After 16 years of high school classroom teaching experience in Missouri, I decided to pursue my doctorate in education at UK. I'm an undergraduate at the university of Louisville. I major in biology with a minor in spanish . I was on the spanish team in high school, and also received a biology scholarship to the university. I tutor my sister she is in the 7th grade, I help her with math and science. My other sister comes to me when she needs help in math , when there are problems she doesn't understand. To begin with ,my interest in tutoring started after I volunteer to work for Americorps. I helped students in reading and writing. During my assignment with Americorps,I had the opportunity in acquiring skills which has helped me in tutoring. I was assigned to work as a summer associate instructor for reading and mathematics.
