A Little Bit About Me...

I had volunteered my time to tutored some kids in my neighborhood. This was the time while i was in college. I have tutored the subject of Math 8th grade level and Math in the second grade level. I have volunteered to tutored a friend in college the subject of French at Hunter College. She received a good grade and was happy. I was able to make a good impact on their learning and achievement.
I would explain to the students the rule of grammar in French and the rule of mathematics, set up some problems for them to resolve and this way they have a very good understanding of the subjects and able to perform on the subject independently.

After I graduated from university I have been working as a Spanish teacher for two years and I have a very strong interest in pursuing a teaching career. I have experienced both teaching at elementary school (Dino School of Prague) and high school levels (Austrian High School). In addition since November 2011 I have been working for the worldwide non-profit organization created by the Spanish government called Cervantes Institute in Prague where I acquired a really valuable experience and the knowledge of the best techniques and methods of teaching a foreign language. Over 13 years of working with students that were not scholars initially. After learning skills to improve their educational/learning experience, they became more scholarly, and enjoyed learning. This is key. They just need to change their perspective, and learn how to make "learning" enjoyable, like it was in kindergarden.
My teaching style is interactive, many of my former students would characterize it as "coaching". I always empower the student to find their way and to have them become "pros" in the learning process. I do not do the work for them, but I show them how they can make their tasks and finishing them more efficient. Spanish is one of my top subjects! I am first generation born in the US so Spanish was my first language. I took the AP Spanish Language and Culture exam without taking an actual course and I received a 5. Essentially I can help from basic Spanish to Advanced Placement Spanish.

I don't have official experience as a Spanish tutor but I have tutored my acquantances countless times for a Spanish classes and exams. I am fluent in the language and have tested out of every language credit fulfillment I have needed in school. I grew up in Southern Arizona so I went to Mexico every time there was a holiday break from school, meaning I have been very immersed in the Mexican culture and the Spanish language.
I am not a certified teacher so I would follow the rubric of a Spanish exam book. However Id to like to incorporate visuals when it's beneficial for my students, and I will use different forms of media arts to practice the language comprehension.
