A Little Bit About Me...

I prefer to teach towards the student, meaning working not only on the students strengths but also their weakness. By doing so, the student will be able to play at their highest level. Specifically, teaching the guitar is much more abstract than learning Math or English. The guitar takes coordination, hearing, and soul to learn. I plan on teaching every student not to just play songs but how to truly play the guitar.
I have now been playing the guitar for roughly eight years. Performing at school concerts to charity events and now playing gigs at local clubs and restaurants, I am venturing off towards the directions of teaching the instruments to willing students. I have been teaching students from the age of 14-17 for the past year as some of them have began their own bands and playing at concerts.

A Little Bit About Me...

After graduating with my BS in chemistry, I went into industry and worked as an analytical chemist. After a short time in industry, I returned to school to pursue my MS in Chemistry at the University of Hawaii. At the University of Hawaii, I had the opportunity to be a teaching assistant for four years and tutor undergraduate students in all aspects of chemistry. After 12 successful years as a pharmaceutical chemist, I began taking classes at Pace University and recently I have finished my requirements for graduation in August when I expect to receive my NYS Initial Certification in Chemistry 7-12. Since the age of 13 I have been playing bass. Since 1993 I've been a self employed bassist, audio engineer, producer and programmer. In addition to performing, I have extensive experience with computer audio/music recording and production. In that time, I have toured the world playing in several different musical styles. Most notably, playing with Jose Feliciano's. I've taught many students how to play bass privately and continue to do so today. I've taught at music stores as well as my home and students homes. A Little Bit About Me...

When I started working at Colchester High School in Vermont, I initially identified myself much more with the students than the teachers and staff. Back in high school, I went out of my way to rebel against the school. In Vermont I quickly learned that there is a big difference-- that as an adult now, I am on the "other side," but can use this closeness I feel with the adolescent mindset to help with the learning process for the kids.
